For people in therapy
Your experience belongs in the conversation.
If you are uncertain about what your therapy is working toward or whether it is helping, bring that uncertainty into your work with your therapist.
Questions you can ask
- What are we trying to understand?
- What are we working toward?
- How will we recognize meaningful change?
- What will we reconsider if things remain stuck?
Feeling confused, disagreeing, or noticing little change can be important information to discuss.
